In December, the Kamoa Project of Jimond Mining successfully fulfilled its 2020 yearly target with its monthly advancing hitting the record high for the year: 1510m of advancing, accounting for 122% of the target; 53957.7m³of earthwork, accounting for 123% of the target; and the output target was 119% met.
2020 was extremely extraordinary for the Kamoa Project, and December was even more challenging: workfaces increased rapidly after the north-south ramp was connected, and the Owner set a higher demand for 2020 yearly target, which brought a lot of production pressure. With the help of the head and branch office, the Project drew upon all useful opinions, focused on the actual situation to continuously optimize the management of various systems while actively preventing from the second wave of covid-19 pandemic, and overfulfilled the yearly target. Main methods adopted are as follows:
Organize construction with production operation remains the core
Firstly, reasonably prepare the production plan according to design, and create multi-face construction conditions; secondly, prepare fixed operators for fixed equipment, working at fixed faces, so as to reasonably arrange works and balance production; thirdly, auxiliary systems such as ventilation, water and power supply are adjusted to be managed by section crew instead of by faces, so as to achieve a coordination between local production and entire production; fourthly, strengthen equipment maintenance and management, and set underground maintenance station, so as to ensure general problems are handled on site (except daily maintenance); fifthly, enhance dispatching management, track construction and production dynamics, and reasonably mobilize various resources to ensure normal operation and production.
Continuously improve blasting efficiency with technologies hold priority
Firstly, collect construction information, continuously optimize the construction plan, and reasonably arrange construction processes with the regular cycle rate reaching 88%; secondly, adjust blasting parameters reasonably according to changes of surrounding rocks, achieving an average footage of 3.5m per blasting and an average blastholes utilization rate of 90%; thirdly, surveying personnel work underground all day to calibrate mid-waist lines for faces at any time; fourthly, disclose technologies to relevant personnel before construction and during underground working at any time; fifthly, proactively communicate with the Owner and put forward reasonable suggestions to create favorable construction conditions.
Constantly promote safety and quality management with standardization as the basis
Firstly, revise the Project standards according to the requirements of the Owner, the head and the branch of JCHX to determine the focus of works in different periods; secondly, adhere to the duty system with leadership taking the lead and management personnel being on duty on a weekly basis, publicize related records, and upload confirmatory data after being modified by relevant responsible personnel; thirdly, hold weekly safety production meetings with the attendance of all members of the Project, so as to expose problems, analyze risks, and put forward clear requirements for key and difficult tasks; fourthly, strictly control the size of roadways, measure the section crew profile of each blasting, and find the reasons and make targeted measures; fifthly, strengthen support quality, implement construction in strict accordance with design, so as to basically achieve zero rock exposure; the last but not least, strengthen the management of civilized production, complete service boreholes drilling while developing roadways, and realize the UG installation of pipelines and highlight them with necessary marks.
The extremely unusual 2020 has come to a successful conclusion, and the hopeful 2021 has come. All employees of the Kamoa Project are confidently striving to meet new goals and make splendid achievements.
